Yosemite National Park
Jonathan chose to surprise Jessica with a marriage proposal at the coolest location yet – Vernal Falls in Yosemite! Depending on what side of the bed I wake up on, Yosemite, Disneyland, and the Serengeti switch between being my favorite places in the world…so needless to say I was super excited to hear Jonathan wanted to propose in Yosemite, and on a short and pretty hike such as Vernal Falls. I’m no stranger to Yosemite, as I went there numerous times as a child, and try to go there every few years to camp and hike. It is so close to San Francisco there really is no excuse not to visit my favorite place in the world!!! (I guess I woke up on the “right” side of the bed, eh?)
It was amusing trailing behind the two as they hiked the path, seeing them stop every so often for photos, and me literally walking past them as they did, and then having them overtake me when I stopped to take my own photos of the surroundings. With its grandeur and beauty, Yosemite is arguably the easiest place in the world for a photographer to hide in plain site for a marriage proposal! 😀
As we approached the base of Vernal Falls, Jonathan presented Jessica with a bouquet of flowers (which I carried with me and left for him to gather) and dropped to one knee and proposed, surprising her, as well as the dozens of tourists visiting the humbling waterfall. As if the Falls weren’t picturesque enough, we were also blessed with a rainbow, which made the entire scenery just perfect.
Oh Yosemite, you never cease to amaze! If you are reading this, you should definitely propose or wed at Yosemite! (and have me come along!)
